Why? Pachamama needs us
It all started with my book “Baustellen”.
Would I find the moment to sit down and think? To reflect on what has happened, what is happening and what could happen? I found many of these moments on an extended “sabbatical” voyage that brought me all the way to the lost continent of Antarctica, the Argentinean pampas, the silence of the Puna in Argentina, Bolivia and Peru. I also faced an intense confrontation with pre-Hispanic cultures.
The vibrations and contrasts of the large urban areas in Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, and Rio represented resounding wake-up calls. Coming from the “old continent” the discovery of the world “beyond the Andes”, the Pacific, was astounding and and at the same time very refreshing.
The beauty of the Brazilian Amazon forest was on one hand humbling and on the other hand choking.
I did get an additional wake-up call: yes, our planet is sweating and burning. Really big time
Baustellen became my first “author experience”. A rewarding one. I got a refreshing and lively feedback on the book. And yes, the “appetite came with the hunger” …or…is it the other way round?
The strong feedback received on Baustellen, motivated me to launch this Webpage. It should be an exchange platform. Why not a source of ideas, experiences and initiatives focussed on the theme of climate change?
I hope that this website will become an intensive and open exchange platform of ideas, experiences and initiatives focussed on climate change
Texts and pictures are meant to provoke and to wake us up. We must take care of our planet - Pachamama - if it's not us who is it then?
