Diego: Simply the best

"Confieso que he vivido"

Last week marked the passing away of Diego Maradona. An artist. An idol. A “Büezer”. He was only 60 but I would guess that he would have totally agreed with Pablo Neruda: “Confieso que he vivido”.

I’m black or white, I will never be grey in my life

Reflecting on his colourful and engaged life, I conclude with a great “Hut ab” and my warmest “Chapeau”: gracias Diego!

My mother thinks I am the best. And I was raised to always believe what my  mother tells me.  

David Yarrow – one my by favourite contemporary photographers – took one of the best pictures of Diego Maradona. David tweeted the pictures with the following comment “this moment, captured in Mexico City at the World Cup Final in 1986, is still the highlight of my career”. Thanks David. Thanks Diego!
